Prices and availability

A share entitles the holder to the use of a boat for a week at a specified time each year for the years remaining until the syndicate is wound up, perhaps after 10 years, at a time determined by the syndicate. At this time the boat is sold and the proceeds distributed pro rata the price of the original shareholding. The only other disbursement the shareholder needs to make is his share of the annual service charge, which for Bon Viveur 2 in 2008 is £400 per week.

Shares in the Bon Viveur syndicate were first offered for sale in 2004 and the vessel was first used by shareholders in 2005. Shares in the Bon Viveur 2 syndicate were first offered for sale in 2005 and it was first used in 2006.

Click on the name of a vessel on the left to see the prices at which shares were originally offered for sale by the boatbuilder, who now acts as the chairman of each syndicate and handles maintenance and movement between Burgundy and Languedoc.

If a shareholder is wishing to dispose of a share he indicates the price he is seeking in blue beside the date of the week to which he is entitled. Anybody interested in acquiring the share can click on the price to contact the vendor to negotiate the purchase.
