Prices and availability A share entitles the holder to the use of a boat for a week at a specified time each year for the years remaining until the syndicate is wound up, perhaps after 10 years, at a time determined by the syndicate. At this time the boat is sold and the proceeds distributed pro rata the price of the original shareholding. The only other disbursement the shareholder needs to make is his share of the annual service charge, which for Bon Viveur 2 in 2008 is £400 per week. Shares in the Bon Viveur syndicate were first offered for sale in 2004 and the vessel was first used by shareholders in 2005. Shares in the Bon Viveur 2 syndicate were first offered for sale in 2005 and it was first used in 2006.
